What is the best video game - turned in to a film of all time? My votes:

Resident Evil
Silent Hill

I just bought this game coz I heard it was the closest to the film which I love, with the foggy town etc. and I have only played on 4 before, I hope I enjoy it, and would agree with Silent Hill being a great adaptation. The RE films are cool enough in their own way, but should probably be remade close to the actual games, you can probably get away with that with the SH series.

Best of all time? I dont know

But SH2 is for me the greatest game of the past ganeration.Although Konami was full of win in the 128 bit era,SH,MGS,Suikoden,Zone Of The Enders,they just throwed classic after classic like it was nothing.

from a gameplay standpoint, nowhere close

from an atmosphere and storytelling standpoint, nothing comes close

Silent Hill 2 and MGS 3 are two of the best ever for sure!!

Both of those films were trash, unfortunately....

Silent Hill had potential... great special effects and some of the essence of the series was captured, but the script and the story were horrid.

Almost impossible to tell, in my opinion. If we're talking horror games specifically, my favorite is Resident Evil Code: Veronica, by far. However, in terms of scares, tone, how effectively it unsettles the player, relateable characters, and sheer depth, Silent Hill 2 is the greatest horror game ever, by far.

The storyline and settings are epic. But action gameplay is kinda lame.

They focus more on the story,atmosphere,characters etc.rather than the action.Don't forget that your character is not Rambo,so you can't expect him/her to fight like a bear on steroids.This kind of gameplay is a plus to the game(s),since it adds to the story and,definetely,the atmosphere(weaker=scarier,in this genre.It makes you feel sort of powerless to your surroundings and that scares you).I loved the Silent Hill series up until Origins.The rest make me want to take a roll of toilet paper and wipe them.Hopefully it will take the *beep* away....
