Pyramid head inspired by creature in Legend (1985)?

I posted this on the Legend (1985) board as well:

I wonder if this creature inspired the creation of Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2 (2001) and Silent Hill (2006). The Wiki page for Pyramid head states: Masahiro Ito, the designer of Silent Hill 2's monsters, created him because he wanted "a monster with a hidden face", but became unhappy with his designs, which resembled humans wearing masks. He then drew a monster with a pyramid-shaped head.

Haha, that's an interesting find. I wouldn't consider it the case though. In the Making Of Silent Hill 2 documentary, you see one of Ito's original drawings of the "human wearing a mask", and it's more of a sock/cloth-face. You should watch that if you haven't already, it's a gem that we get any kind of exclusive look at what the original Team Silent had to say about their work, creating this amazing game (considering no other behind the scenes information exists. There's also one for SH3).

Ito's rationale behind the final Pyramid Head design is that he wanted something that felt like it was painful; jagged. I found this as well https://innerfear.wordpress.com/2013/06/04/the-origin-of-pyramid-head/

It explains that the pyramid idea originated from an old abstract painting Ito did when he was studying at university; it's a fairly interesting design.
