Roy has AIDS. When he told his sister, she was only the second person he told.

I love this subtle film. It was such a touching story. Made me think of regrets, wasted time, but also hope. I'm so glad it wasn't glitzy. The writer/director must have lived this.
They never mentioned he had AIDS, but you assume it because he is gay and he mentioned that his s.o. had died. Besides, one of the meds. Natalie gave him was an AIDS med.

p.s.: just wanted to add how *beep* great that movie was for me, i've watched it like 50 times or more and i cry every single time i watch it. there's no other movie that can do this to me...ever since i watched that film i'm a huge ks-fan and this is certainly my absolute favourite ks-film. also since that movie happened to came into my life kyra and stockard are two of my favourite actresses. it opened up a whole new world of actors and actresses to me. also kevin bacon and bob downey who are very close to ks and ks. they all are fantastic.love you all:)

I thought I heard that he was dying from anemia, or something like that. I'm sure that doctor he talks to the first time he takes his sister along to his appointment mentions something about anemia! (doesn't he?)
It's strange, 'cause AIDS was the first thing I thought of when I heard that he was sick.
He did die from Aids..
