The house that belongs to the Red Door

The only reason I have watched this movie was my adoration for Kiefer Sutherland. I wasn`t disappointed at all. It is an amazing, deep and bitter-sweet movie that brought a lot of peaceful feeling into my heart. I have watched it over and over again since then. I really love the place it was filmed. "Roy`s House" is heavenly...Does anybody know where this house exactly is or who owns it? Once I have the opportunity to go to Canada, this is one thing I would definitely love to visit...I would be grateful for any info.

In St. John's Newfoundland.

Who did the interior decoration? Inside it's sparse and cold and sterile. On the outside it looks like a gothic asylum for the richly insane, and the wintry ocean view adds considerably to all that bone cold bleakness. The location perfectly reflects John's character but it makes it hard to feel any sympathy for him.
He's played by Kiefer with Oscar-allure.
