Ok, I live in Australia and am a big football fan. I saw this movie for the first time about a year ago, one of my mates introduced it to me and it is incredibly funny and Ricky Tomlinson is brilliant! I've finally got hold of the TV series and have started watching, which I think is equally as funny.
I'm guessing it's Americans who don't understand British humour or football that have been giving this low scores.
Yeah it should be higher - I gave it 8/10. I think the humour is very British though so you might be right that other countries just didn't get the humour and gave it a lower score.

'there's one here from Don revie', that sort of thing had me in stitches, just don't think anyone who didn't know a bit about football would get that :).
