For the love of god, why another remake

It's very odd, in a time when hollywood movies are as bland as ever, i've started watching more and more korean and japanese movies, heck, any foreign movie seems to be more original and stirring.

Just as the budgets of most hollywood films are out of touch with reality, so are the films, and it's really a shame. The worse part is that the remakes (i think) rarely capture what was in the original films, but rather hollywood-dized.

Maybe i'm talking out of my arse, but that's the feeling I get. I haven't seen this movie yet, but I will tonight. I watched My Sassy Girl a few days ago, and it was so touching, and to thik they're making a remake of that too.

Maybe i'm too naive, but it's really sad, countries like Korea and Japan have very unique distinct cultures, that ought to be share, but somehow they want to more american culture, which to is a great loss (wanting to become more westernized that is).

Well, that's all! SOrry for writing so much, i will enjoy this movie.

Im looking forward to a remake as i think when that gets exposure, the beauty of the original will realy show.

i know what you mean..

Its strange that not like SVT (sweden), BBC (UK) and other places with goverment funding channels doesnt show more asian movies.

I mean, i totaly understand the power of money, but its bad that i have to download movies from korea when i want to see a good one.

Nowhere to rent, nowhere to go and the telly only show hollywood movies that was on the cienma some years ago.

Another sad thing is when i try to "spread the culture", many friends actually refuse to watch it since they cant "identify themself" when they see a korean instead of a white guy.. sad for them.

And when i do get someone to see it its often with a surprise in their voice they admit it was "actually good".

Next time i say "this movie rocks".. still same old "hmm, korean, dont you have some USA movie?"..

People just get dumber and dumber and want to watch stupid shows with no brains in it..

I agree completely. It's so annoying with all these Hollywood remakes of the true beauties in movies. But as long as there is money around, remakes are going to be all over the place!

This is going to hurt Korean film makers... why not just talk someone into releasing it internationally? That would be a better way of "spreading the culture"...

Whatever happened to good old originality...

[please excuse my English n_n]

Hmmm... if this movie were to be remade by Hollywood, I think the credit would go to them (Americans) especially to those who are not familiar with Korean movies. It's just sad because I really like the original version. I'm not ashamed to say that I cried a bit after watching it.

The remake sucks!!!!

Without the Hollywood remake I wouldn't have heard about this movie. I know that Hollywood normally makes remakes of very good movies. So, I go looking for the original stuff, watch it and am very pleased. But I will not watch the Hollywood remake because I don't like most of them and I am just fed up.

stupid holywood will destroy this movie. keanu reeves? my dog acts better.

What's it to you? If you don't like remakes, don't watch them.
