blind dates

What is your experience with blind dates?
Best experience?
Worst experience?

I have only had a few blind dates.
My WORST was when I was staying with a friend in Manhattan, and went on a blind date with her boyfriend and his friend. My blind date was continually rude. (I've noticed some people--not usually native New Yorkers--think because they live in New York they can say anything they want to.) I told him I thought he was being rude and inappropriate but that didn't stop him. So in the middle of dinner I said, "I have a headache, I think I'd better leave." He acted upset about that and offered to see me home, but I just wanted to get away from him. My girlfriend when she got home said she and her boyfriend didn't blame me, and thought maybe it was a good lesson for him, because usually people let him get away with being obnoxious.

My BEST was in college when a friend and her boyfriend introduced me to his roomate on a blind date. He was such a terrific guy, we dated and had a wonderful time for a few months. I broke off with him for complicated reasons, and later wished I hadn't, he was so nice. I went on to marry, divorce, and then marry again and so did he. I am still friends with him and his second wife, who I'm glad to say is perfect for him.
