And I've received two faulty copies. It's really nice that I paid 30 bucks and can't get a working dvd.

I know it's been like 5 years, but that's a bummer. I bought the DVD on Amazon and it's fine of course, but it's the 'R version. I'm sure you've found a copy by now, any chance you know where to get an unrated version? I've looked but can't find squat.
shareI just finally tried to watch the DVD (it's the unrated special edition version, with the extra 2nd disc of bonus features) I bought about 3 years ago, and at about almost the 35 minute mark, the disc freezes for about 8 seconds, then jumps to the 73 minute mark, and then it'll play from there fine until the end of the movie. The disc surface is flawless. So I couldn't watch the whole movie, just about 2/3 of it. The bonus disc plays fine.
After reading this post, I guess it's a screw-up caused by Shriek Show apparently. I doubt I could get a replacement disc now.
