I wish they'd make a contiuation series

This review talks about the ending of Nightwalker and should not be read by anyone who hasn't seen the whole series yet.

I wish they'd make a sequel series to this one because in fact this show leaves a few loose ends hanging. Cain is shown to still be alive (at least in some form or another,) and probably still a threat to our heros. We're never given a satisfactory explanation for what the "Golden Dawn" is, or wether that one woman's baby is half-demon or not, or what was killing those high school girls in the fourth episode. I wish they'd do a follow-up for this series, but it seems that will never happen.

I loved the series because the male characters were HAWT, the story, bleh. The Golden Dawn was supposed to be the birth of a breed/human. Apparently, the woman who was suspected to give birth to one had only a human baby. So, it's evident that she conceived before her fiance became a breed.
That drops Cain's 'Golden Dawn' by the crap load.
The breed that was attacking the high school girls was also suspected of being connected to Megumi, the woman to conceive the demon child, as a "red-herring" to twist the viewer into another direction. Otherwise, the demon was just some random breed out for blood.
There are a lot of questions unanswered and that's what disappointed me. The plot was ridiculous to the point of frustration.
I was also disappointed at Shido making Riho a lover, since in the real game, she was not a candidate to be Shido's love interest. (Plus, I think she's extremely annoying.)
The dream sequence pissed me off too. Just when the episode was reaching a heart stopping climax (I had a vague feeling that Shido was going to come on top against Riho), Shido wakes up from the 'nightmare' and everyone's safe. I remember watching this with my friends and we ended up throwing the remote at the TV. Geez, what a damper on a good sleepover.

If they were going to make a continuation, they'd better start working on that unfinished plot of theirs, or else it'd be another disappointment.

Thanks for the reply and sharing your thoughts!

This was actually based on a game, you say? Was it one of those interactive anime "visual novels" (like the ones released by Animeplay)?

I guess I can see how you wouldn't like Riho. I actually liked her character myself. I guess it's a matter of personal preference. I thus also actually was relieved when the episode where Shido is forced to kill her turned out to be just a dream. (Though I was glad about this equally for the reason that it meant Yayoi and Guni were still alive, as well.)

Since they probably won't ever make a follow-up series to this show, I suppose NIGHTWALKER fans will have to be satisfied with reading internet fanfics.

I agree that a continuation would be nice.
