Does anyone else think the new Wrestlemania Anthology Sucks?

I mean I love having all the great moments on DVD, but they have just butchered them by blurring out the old WWF logos, and redubbing of certain superstars entrances, on that note the only Entrance them that has been dubbed that sounds better on the new DVD is on WM X8, when the nWo comes out, the song they dubbed it with sounds better than the original nWo theme... But all in all up until you get to WM XIX where they don't have to bleep stuff out or blur it out, I am kind of disappointed... but hey, The greatest moments in WWE history, to have those, and I can relive them whenever I want, are very cool

That's why I stick to the old coliseum video versions. I hate the idea of them changing history like this. They talk about releasing the classic WWF on dvd but you know they will chop it up in some way. Luckily I know a guy who has an immense collection of WWF and WCW compilation tapes that run from the early 80's to today. They complain about piracy but at the same time the stuff they put out sucks big time.

reply

Well that's the only thing I hate about the set, the blurring out of the WWF logos and when the letters "wwf" are actually said, they're silently bleeped out.

Everything about the set other than that completely kicks a$$ though!

I kinda like the different version of Demolition's entrance theme too, it rocks!

I have the Piledriver Wrestling Album vhs tape though, so their original theme is on there.

I'm hoping the wwe puts out a Royal Rumble Anthology though, I'm getting sick and tired of some of my s h i t t y vhs copies.

reply

I think it's really good. Yeah the blurring on Wrestlemanias 14 up is *beep* but apart from that it's great.

The changing of the music takes A LOT away IMHO. Copyright and usage laws folks. For example, I loved Demolition and (yes, it's true) Dusty Rhodes' theme songs. I loved the nWo theme. Most importantly, I loved the "My Way" theme from Wrestlemania X-Seven. It does change the enjoyment factor.

What's hilarious is that they blurred out "WWF" from Koko B. Ware's tights and when Hulk Hogan does an interview in the Wrestlemania IV or V DVD, when he says "WWF," they use the old "WW" and edit in Hogan saying "E." Hilarious. For flowing purposes, couldn't he have just said "WWE" and had them edit the whole thing?

reply

Yeah, its a load of *beep* for real that Vince couldnt pay up a little money to the dumbass panda lovers so we could see the logos, and pay some to get the rights to the song, for real with all the money he got from people buying it thats the least he could do...

Yeah they also did that with the Fink on 15(when he announces the Big Show, Mankind match)

Also they forgot to bleep out Lawler saying WWF at 18.

You are making the mistake of thinking you are more important than you actually are.

reply

I own it and its good but the wwf blurring and censered. Thats F-up.

reply

Is it worth $160?

I seen it on sale and I wasn't sure about buying it.

It was at Suncoast.

So, is it worth that much money?

Bring our troops home, NOW!

Let Iraq stir in their own stew!

reply

Only thing good about this was that I already had the last couple of Wrestlemanias on DVD & these were sold in volumes, so I didn't have to spend more than I wanted to.

i think its *beep*

i was watching mcmahon v hogan. hogan came out to real american which for anyone who knows, hulk was using voodoo chile at this time. but i wasn't arsed...untill i heard the crowd. when the wwe use overdubbed music, they don't use the same crowd noise that is present on the original track. maybe coz it's harder to seperate from the track. but it's so annoying; canned heat...the same canned heat they add to smackdown when we get it over ihere in the uk.

it's crap..it's generic, lifeless and repetitive.

other examples are victoria's entrance at wmxx.

i wouldn't mind but the original pop is something that you just have to experience...its like goosebumps on your arm.

does anyone else know what i mean?

reply

I know what you mean.......I can remember times when I heard Demolition's ring entrance music & got so pumped for it...now, it sounds like crap with the generic music. For a billionaire company, they sure seem hesitant to spend the money to keep the music the way it was supposed to be.

IMHO, I'd rather spend $160 in an unsealed, never-been-played original copy of WM17; instead of getting an Anthology pack with other WM's from the attitude era that are all blurred up.

reply

We know that but OMG it sucks WM 17 Undertaker vs HHH and what do we get the ministry theme instead of rollin from limp bizkit. Those kind of things ruin the whole goosebump feeling for me

im back !!!

It's annoying. I have Wrestlemania Anthology: 12-17. Wrestlemanias 12 to 15 are fine but WWF logos are heavily blurred in 16 and 17. It's annoying because even corner pads have WWF written on them and they had to blur them. Heck they even had to blur the WWF logo on a person sitting on the front row. However, the anthology is still very cheap as compared to buying them separately. The entire set of Six glorious Wrestlemanias (From Wrestlemania 12 to 17) cost me $60. Had I bought them separately (from the old collections), they would have cost me around $220.

World Wildlife Fund needs to get a life.

If possible try and get hold of the Tagged Classics from Silvervision.co.uk, the events have not been edited or cut :O)

Black Label Society SDMF'ER!!

reply

I agree Captain Sparrow. But they don't have all Wrestlemanias in tagged classics. It only goes as far as Wrestlemania 12.

I was wonder why are tagged classics not blurred? Any ideas?
