This was such a criminally underrated movie

Good acting, great story....I don't see what the problem is. I loved it when I was younger and thought I was remembering something wrong by all the bad reviews I saw about it, but nope watched it again and it's still a great movie. Too bad they didn't make a sequel.

What would you have changed/done to make it better? The only thing that I think it could have improved on was Matilda's backstory. Also, why did they make her an old woman? She was a young blonde beautiful woman.

Anyway, the only thing I would have changed was added more to her backstory[like thy did in the books/comic books]. I seriously do not understand what is wrong with this movie. People just say 'It sucked' and 'worst horror movie'. All right-why is that? If anyone says bad acting I won't even listen-If you think this is bad you obviously haven't seen bad acting. Try sitting through Haunted Highway.

I'm a Timelord.
Right, not pompous at all then.

It's not 10/10 or anything but I would also agree it's under rated. When people saw it as it came out the word of mouth wasn't that bad, but over the years it's definitely been given a bad rep. There's way worse horror movies out there, anyone who watches enough of the genre would tell you that.

It was ok. There are always fools saying "the worst movie..." literally in every board I go in this site.

I don't care about the revies on this site either. I've seen amazing horror movies get crucified in reviews because of trivial things. Some people really miss the point in horror movies. A lot of them actually.

It's starts being scary but then it looks a little like an action movie at the end. I think they showed her a little too much on screen so she stopped being so scary. She was at her best when she couldn't be seen and was making those noises.

Movies are a lot scarier these days. A much higher amount of jump scares, the cgi, the fast pacing compared to movies from the past increasing even more the jump scares. But this one, somehow doesn't stand out compared to a lot of other movies I've seen from this era. I watched this after watching Hellraiser and Evil Dead (1981). Yes, it's much scarier than those movies but compared to The Conjuring or Mama it's not too scary at all.

It's not bad, it has it's moments but I see it as a mediocre horror movie. Not underrated. But then again I don't care how people rate these movies in this sites after reading so many dumb reviews of so many movies. I watch them and I rate them how I like it without caring what anyone else thinks.
