As a "has been" low grade hockey player i would have to say that the original slap shot was, still is, and will always be the greatest hockey movie of all time. Now this is just my feelings if you agree or dissagree thats your own free will just don't yell at me for my opinion like some ppl like to do on this site. The original showed real hitting and real hockey or as the hanson brothers would put it.... "Old time hockey!" it showed the real parts of hockey good and bad and thats why i say back off on slap shot 2 its not like the just remade the original they tried and i for one liked the plot and main idea because its true for modern times with all the Politically Correct Garbage that ppl like to shove down everyone elses throat. (Sorry about the rant on PC ppl) But you should give this movie and chance and not bash it. Not everyone can be the great one and this movie isn't close either but its still good and this is comming from a hockey player him self so please give it chance and to all the good ppl out there mising there front teeth from a puck or stick related injury i leave you this.... "Old-time Hockey! Like Eddie Shore! Dit Clapper! And Toe Blake! And Gordie Howe! GORRRDDIEEEE!"

I played Juniors and know what playing for a trash team is like, but this movie wans't good. I live and die hockey so this upsets me to think that a hockey movie can be this bad

You don't seem to understand... This isn't really a Hockey movie. Its a movie about PC correctness and a giant joke of hockey being made. And besides yes some ppl may not like and think its bad, fine you have your right but don't preach it like its a sin alot of my old hockey mates like just fine and im sure theres others out there. You can't always have a pefect hockey movie where its all about win one for the gipper or we do this to stay alive. The original post wasn't directed at ppl to be mean its just saying if you don't like... so be it, but don't go bashing it like everyone on earth should hate it cuz one day you may find yourself turning on the tube and the latest craze being that same PC version of a harlem globtrotters wannabe hockey show. You just never know with this messed up world lol

You get upset because a hockey movie can be this bad??? You must get upset quite a bit, because there are very few hockey movies made and fewer still that are good.
I say, ANY film about hockey is okay. Besides, ANY film with the Hansons should get a gold frikken medal. I own just about every hockey movie ever made, includng some made in the 20s and 30s, PLUS early silent footage from the late 1800's ,PLUS quite a few with SOME hockey in it( like LOVE STORY, etc), and this was no better/no worse than many. Someone should make a dramatization of either the Summit Series in 72 or the Canada Cup where Vachon kicked the world's ass, those would be excellent movies.
