just wanted to say that my favourite scenes were the ones with lorch... i thought those were the most moving.
sharemy favourite part of the book is when Lorch is at Fagernesset. when he leaves, everything slowly goes downhill for Dina.

Do you think that Lorch was in love with adult Dina? Was she in love with him?
I think he truly loved her and she was probably the only one in his life, but he didn't act on it because he was her teacher and would never do anything that could have been thought of as improper. Her father didn't concern himself on what would be best for her, she was simply a business deal and he was thrilled that someone would take her off his hands.
As a side note, I thought both actresses that played child/adult Dina were incredible! They made her so memorable.
