Terminator

I still think it's a cool movie even though they totally stole the story from Terminator (minus the time travel thing).

Errr, your Terminator comparison makes no sense. The only thing comparable is the fact that both have robots, but then that'd make up 75% of japanese cinema too. I can't even argue here, there is hardly any similarity at all... sorry :P

Add to that, this version (which is really a 4 part mini-series) was a remake of sorts of a 70's tv series... far pre-dating Terminator anyways.

The best thing to compare it to really is the Rockman/Megaman games... especially the X series, and X4's story in particular pretty much rips off this "movie" entirely.

I haven't seen this movie, but if you're thinking it's like Terminator in terms of "robots that turn against humanity and try to destroy it", that idea has been around far longer than both Terminator and Japanese anime.
