There he is trying to get somewhere fast. His slow walker and feeble physical state combined with the dramatic event made for one of the funniest anticlimactic endings in my movie-viewing history.

Gotta love this flick. And who would think that a movie with such a ridiculous concept and comedic framework would have the emotional resonance that it does.
