Did anyone actually enjoy this movie?

I liked this movie! I thought it was quite good. We don't have "twisters" in Australia so I'm always fascinated to see one in action, even if it is computer generated. I thought the special effects were quite good for a simple TVM. Did anyone else not hate this movie? Pretty much everyone who's posted on this board thinks it's crap.

I enjoyed this movie to. It wasnt an oscar winner obviously but it was quite enjoyable. I dont think it deserved the reviews its getting here, they are a bit unjust. Overall i saw the movie as watchable and i think Sharon Lawrence and Mark Paul acted pretty well

reply

Thank you! I think everyone's just jumped on the "let's bag Atomic Twister" bandwagon. It isn't that bad. I've seen a hell of a lot worse!!!

I loved this movie! I work in a nuke plant, and the absurdity of the whole thing was just too good. I guess I may like it for reasons other than a lot of people, but I love telling all my nuke plant friends about it. Most of them love it too!

I enjoyed the babysitters jiggly titties while she played Twister with the little perv

I liked the song the were playing in the background when the reactor started going critical.

I was an extra on Atomic Twister, couldn't wait to see it. I didn't realise it was a comedy til I saw it.

reply

The babysitter twister scene was the ONLY best part of the movie. They should have cut the remainder of the movie and continued the twister game for the next 60 minutes. She was hotHotHOT !!!

All I can say is anyone who loved or even enjoyed this movie hasn't seen or ever learned anything about Tornadoes or movie making. You want a good movie that actually depicts tornadoes for what they really are, go rent Twister. The graphics that showed the tornadoes moving around looked ridiculously fake. Furthermore, if you are going to name a movie Atomic Twister, at least have the reactor blow up. The sheriff is somehow always on top of things. Sharon Lawerance's character is superwoman because she gets a 20 yr old generator that hasn't been used to work just by calling it an SOB. For a movie to be entertaining it has to make sense. If it doesn't, than its crap. I am a tornado freak and believe that tornadoes are both destructive and beautiful. And to see this kind of garbage portrayed on screen and than calling it "enjoyable" is absolutly mind-boggling. Take a look at the facts, people. Have you ever heard of only 3 or 4 people working at an atomic plant? And if say something was to go wrong, do you really think 7 firehoses and an old generator would fix the problem instantly? Not likely. What would happen is another Chernobyl. I lived through that one, was 3 yrs old at the time, in Belarus. From what I recall from my parents, hundreds of thousands of people died. Wasn't pretty and didn't have a happy ending. If a movie, even if it is science fiction, is gonna go for facts about things like radiation and tornadoes, the very least they can do is get their damn facts straight and make it look real. This movie was an attempt to top Twister. It doesn't even reach 0 in my book, more like a -100.

i just saw this movie thier are a cople hours ill never get back, thier are so many mistakes in this movie that it would take a weeek to list them. one i have a friend who drives a big rig it would never stop like that it didin this movie so my friend says.and when jake is trying to stop the rig and, the truck driver is blowing the horn you can clearly see both hands on the wheel and that hole diesel thing are we relay spose to belive that no ones to notice a diesel pump for 15 years . plus wouldn't they take precatins they were in tornado alley ,iam not postive but iam pretty sure they would have a few back upssory for the run on sentence. and are we also sopose to belive that a small child spose to keep a growen woman from getting suked up like in the begening of this movie. .thats it for me

Chernobyl didn't kill nearly as many people as you say. Take the time to look up facts before you report hearsay. Also, the reactor in the movie wouldn't have been anything like Chernobyl because, in the United States and most of the advanced world, we put containment buildings (that can withstand impacts from 747 jets) around the reactor. You might know something about movies, but leave science for people that go to college.

Oh man, I'm sorry to tell you this but: I enjoyed this movie as much as a good comedy show. It kinda shocked me at the beginning cause I though it was actually just a "Twister" remake, but it is so much more! It got me laughing my butt off for the complete second half.

I think this movie was intended to be a comedy. The director is a genius if he really planned it that why. If not well.... it's just crap.

I liked it...sometimes things dont have to make sense to be enjoyable. If everything was supposed to be accuarte...then why dont we read a non fiction novel??

reply

I really liked this movie. It was an interesting premise that I never thought could happen.

I enjoyed this movie. Some people over analyze everything to an extreme and it reaches the point where nothing can possibll be enjoyable anymore. Sharon Lawrence did a great job acting and I personally thought it was a pretty good idea for a TV movie. It was better than some of the crap that is out there now.

I watched the first five minutes of it and turned it off after seeing the blatant plagiarism of Twister. Incidentally, you DO get tornadoes in Australia, mostly in the Southwest, but normally not as severe as the North American plains.

reply

No we don't fool. We sometimes have small whirlwinds named "willy willy's " but we never get anything as large or destructive even close to tornadoes.

reply

Because we never had Hurricane Tracy up in Darwin or anything!

reply

I didn't mind it.

It was on late night television, I caught the start of it and kept watching.

Although the coincidences were silly and contrived. I know very little about nuclear power or twisters. So it did not offend me or jar too much.

Did I like it?

It was very funny- mostly unintentionally. My favourite bit is when he pulled her out of the car, and it slid down the slope slowly and gently and stopped about two yards away- THEN EXPLODED! Yeahhhh!

reply

to tell u the truth, I liked it cuz Mark- Paul was in ittt. lol

reply

I thought it was alright. Let's face it there are a lot of worse movies out there.

Besides it had the hot guy, cute adorable kid, and the bumbling idiots who make a movie worth watching.

My mom and i loved it.

I'm bored...Poke...Poke...Poke...HUG!

reply

I thought it ws interesting. Who cares that it wasn't a scientifically accurate movie? If you want something thats completely accurate, watch the discovery channel. Even thought the special effects could have used some work it still had a good storyline (whether it was believable or not). Besides, I've seen a lot worse.
