So, where are all you fellow fans from?

I'm just interested to know where people who enjoy this show hail from, I myself am from Hamilton, just outside of Glasgow, more specifically from a wee crappy estate in Hamilton called Hill House, or the Jungle by the locals. I didn't grow up there though, because unfortunately my family moved me to England. So I'm a Scot living in England, grown up here and have only been able to go back to the jungle for visits in Summer to see my Dad, who passed away last year, and I haven't really much reason to go back up there now, but Still Game is one of my favourite shows, because it reminds me of where I'm from!
Just wondering if all fans of the show are local to the Glasgow area, or perhaps a few from further afield? None of my English friends like this show. I just assume they don't understand the patter!

I know you can battle the nasties, dear.

I'm from Edinburgh originally, but moved to Ireland a few years back. This is my favourite sitcom by a mile. My family emigrated to Australia 30 years ago, so I'm planning to send them the box set as I'm sure they'll get a kick out of it. My wife is Korean, and believe it or not, this is her favourite comedy. Took her a while to settle into the lingo, but the english subtitles helped, so I think the humour in Still Game is universal. A lot of English people probably didn't give it a chance.

What fresh lunacy is this? A crocodile?

From Glasgow, now in Ireland for the past couple of decades. Via TV and satellite I got the odd episode of Rab C and then this and wasn't able to see the whole lot until downloads came along.
I know plenty of people in England who 'get' this, but they're in the minority - nonetheless, it has a devoted following, probably from those whos families came from Glasgow or surrounding originally.
Some eps are utterly priceless, some fall a bit flat, but the vast majority of them are classic and worth watching every now and again.

American fan here. Thank the gods for illegal downloading, or I may have never had the opportunity to fall in love with this brilliant show.

Sadly, most folks I know would have to watch with subtitles, and they still wouldn't get it.

I'm English from the Midlands and love Still Game. One of the most underated comedies on the telly. Its a shame it didn't get the deserved recognition from the BBC. They were to busy licking gervais's backside and putting more "comedy" dross out on BBC3. A few of my mates remember Still game so the DVD box set is being passed around! Its funny watching them say 'getit up ye,pish or mimicking Navids's Asian/Scot accent!

I'm from North-West England, and I discovered this show purely by chance. I was channel hopping and stopped on BBC 2 when this show caught my attention, the episode was "Smoke on the water", where Jack plans to surprise Victor on his 75th birthday by taking him on a sail down the river. :)

I was hooked from that one episode on, and so i got all the DVDs to catch up on all the previous series that i'd missed.

I'm from London and caught the show when the BBC finally decided to show it in England. Took a couple of episodes to get into but it was well worth it. I bought the boxed set to see what I had been missing - fantastic show and it doesn't have the nationwide acclaim that it deserves.
