Worth a watch?

I enjoyed the first two Mummy movies but never found the time to see this when it was on KidsWB, can anyone tell me if its worth watching? I can't find a single episode, other than one or two introductions, on Youtube.

Spider-Man 3. The Dark Knight Rises. Really, what's the difference?

I think so, it's one of my favorite cartoons in spite of its average animation quality, not quite up to Batman Beyond or Justice League but still pretty dang good for its time. The story and characters are really what makes this series to me, there's a serialized arc in the first 13 eps that really keeps ya' invested every step of the way, seeing just how the family's gonna discover the Lost Scrolls' secrets and get that dang thing off Alex (hint, a bracelet, again! Yep, he hasn't learned his lesson from The Mummy Returns, lol.

What I like most about the show is it does a decent depiction of real world history in the mid-30s (short of showing Hitler gradually taking over Germany) against the backdrop of classic Mummy-inspired tales, plus 'real time' passes as Alex starts the show 11 and is 13 by the end, you don't see that in many American cartoons. The second season also really picks up steam, finding a commendable balance of stand-alone stories while still moving along some serialized elements that lead to an explosive final couple episodes. One thing I enjoy so much that the movies simply didn't have that much time to explore was the emphasis of family, the characters' relationships with each other, how much it truly does hurt if one of them is killed. Both sequels touched on that element, but only for so long, you really feel the family's struggles and will to survive what these two seasons have in store for them.

One drawback you could view is The Animated Series doesn't make much of an attempt to stick in continuity with the first two films, though there are some nods and cool callbacks every so often, the mythos are reinvented for the most part. The family still has a past with Ardeth, they've had past conflicting with Imhotep, but more or less this is a 'reboot' with a loose shared history (kinda like Superman Returns I suppose). It's out on DVD via three volumes, I suggest nabbing it while ya' can still find it, enjoy!
