I rented this on DVD, here in Spain. It has been edited under the name of "Demon Town". I rented it because I thought it was a movie, not a TV show that makes "Buffy"´s scripts seem like masterpieces... Just terrible, I can´t belive it lasted for ten episodes!!!
Oh man.. I was assigned this show in my Media Crit class back when it was airing in the U.S... I absolutely dreaded the hour every week I had sit in front of the TV and watch this. The writing was boring and the characters were about as likeable as a pebble in your shoe. I think the producers were aiming for a cross between The X-Files and Dawson's Creek... what they got was a cross between Scooby-Doo and Dawson's Creek. I mean, how many fake supernatural things can happen in one town? This show would have worked, it wasn't for those meddling kids...er, bad writing.
I find the show watchable but making all the supposed "supernatural" things turn out to be fake was a huge mistake. They should have made it an actual supernatural dramedy and it would have been so much better.
I agree this crap did look like a cross between Dawson's Creek and Scooby-Doo. This show reminds me of that fox show Freaky Links. They are cartoonish supernatural shows instead of more serious ones like x-files.
