The number of episodes made is under debate. Some sources claim 13 were produced, while others insist that it was only 10. The European DVDs (see below) contain 7 – 9 episodes. So things are still unclear.
Glory Days is clearly inspired by David Lynch’s and Mark Frost’s 1990/1991 TV series, Twin Peaks. There are also similarities with creator Kevin Williamson’s other show, the much more successful Dawson’s Creek (the coastal small town setting, the character types, and the dialogue are all indicative of Williamson’s style and Dawson’s Creek scripts in particular).
Glory Days has not yet been released on DVD in the USA. It is, however, available on Region 2/PAL DVDs in Europe.
In most European countries (including the United Kingdom and Ireland) it is released under the DVD title Demontown with 7 episodes edited into three feature-length parts: Demontown (episodes 1, 2 & 3), Demontown II (episodes 4 & 5), and Demontown III (episodes 6 & 7). Each part is available as three separate straight-to-DVD ‘movies’.
In the Netherlands, Demontown is available as a 2-disc DVD set with all three parts included (Demontown and Demontown II on disc one, and Demontown III on disc two).
Another European DVD release to note: In Germany, the episodes were available with the original title Glory Days. The DVD boxset was sold on www.amazon.de but appears to be currently out of print. According to sources, this set contains 9 episodes on 3 discs.
This is all I know and have found out. Would appreciate any other posts? Does anyone own the German edition? I own the Dutch one mentioned above.
