what happend to the sequel?

I have read a few articles from some of the main cast and directors ect saying they are really up for a sequel but that was back in like 2002 ect. How come it never happened? Was it because james coburn died? I suppose some of the dogs would be getting a little bit past all the runnin g ect now anyway. also dj the dog who played demon was recently in eight below.
i would love to see a sequel but i sadly think it isn't going to happen if it hasn't already.

I heard a lot of buzz about a sequel as well 5-6 years ago and then nothing. My guess is the project is dead, sadly. *If* they make a Snow Dogs 2 at this stage...it would probably be a direct to DVD and would have an all new cast.
