Is it true several puppies died during this?

I read on reddit that several puppies were killed/died during this films production. Cant find any source here. So is this true or BS?

I have it from usually reliable sources that while this film was being shot in Canada, several puppies died in a restaurant in Pyongyang, North Korea ...

(but certainly not in Canada - why should they?)
