A super predictable love story. Performances/story was all over the place. Characterisations were embarrassing. It was even difficult to figure out who was who in the film, especially the school friends (besides the doofer black kid). Daryl Hannah looked like she was related to a plank of wood. shareTotally agree. I was laughing and crying when reading the novel. Truly amazing. But when i watched this movie i wasn't. Everything was changed except for that 'promise you won't fall in love with me' line. Disappointed.

I never read the book, and so I had no pre-conceived expectations. "AWTR" (despite not having any particularly memorable walk scenes) was okay, but no classic. May I ask what was in the book that you feel would've made this movie better?
