Why was the fight stopped?

Iceman knocked Monore down twice and there was a 60 second break following each knockdown.

After Monroe knocked the Iceman down for a second time Michael Rooker yelled, "it's over" before Iceman had even finished falling to the floor. Why was the fight over at that point? Each fighter had knocked the other down twice but there was no 60 second period after the Iceman had been knocked down for the second time. Shouldn't there have been another round to follow?

I think it was clear that Monroe got knocked down...

And Iceman got knocked out.

Big difference.

Iceman was definitely far worse off than Monore was after his knockdowns but 60 seconds is a long time FooserX. It's clear that ICEMAN wouldn't have beat a ten count if the fight were being held under those rules but Michael Rooker's character said the fight was over immediately. I don't think he could have possibly known immediately that Iceman couldn't come back after a full minute had passed. Maybe Rooker hated Iceman like everyone else in the prison did.

It might be slightly off topic but the final fight was not epic enough and ended too soon, it would have been cooler if both fighters dragged it on and on getting more and more hurt and exhausted until the "hero" finally managed to outlast his opponent.

Undisputed 3 and Rocky 4 are examples of EPIC final battles.
