Do yourself a favor don't waste time on it,the only reason I finished watching was hoping that they all ended up dead at the end.

It was very good IMO not the best movie I've ever seen but it's worth a look/buy if you have owned the DVD-R version and you want to hear from the director and cast. If you loved Belly you enjoy this movie.

i dont usually post anything on these boards. but i picked up this movie just from a glance at the cover....looked cool. But i have literally never watched a more atrocious movie than this. This movie shoved stereotypes and cliches down your throat. HOrrible dont waste your time.

Being a Jamaican descendant I too am fed up of seeing Americans trying to
act like Yardies...
However this film was a complete education to a world I never wanted to be associated with.
Yet every week a young black boy is killed in London and if it's not London, it's Manchester.

Despite the violence and Killings. I found Shottas quite comical, not to take away any seriousness from the film.
But during the scene where the police officer is cussing off "Errol" (K.Marley's) role.
I was crying with laughter as he reminded me of an Oliver Samuel comedy.
The other scene was Errol's Aunty sending him to shop for "2 tin of sardines and one bread". Errol mumbles how his fed up of eating sardines and she rants on to how he should go back to his "Muma in ah foreign and go nayam steak!"
I have people talking like that around me all time and yes it's quite comical. As it reminds us of our youth and heritage.
If your not West Indian your not going to appreciate the Directors vision in regards to this film.
Some of you need to keep close to your brainwashing Hollywood style movies as that's the only kind of work that you can acknowledge. That doesn't mean you are to be disrespected for not liking something that's not the norm. It just means that you have to be a touch more OBJECTIVE about why you don't like something. It could be as simple as a person just not understanding what the message is?
Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.

No it didn't. Preety authentic redition of the hard knock life in Kingston. The dialouge didn't sound fake -- for a change. And Im just banannas about Chiquita!

shareThats foolish talk son! Shottas good but Bashment has got more of a story to it and its funny too.
Shottas is about 2 guys killing everyone but bashment is about several gansters and its got their background to each one so you feel for them at how their lives turned out.
