Was Freya really Freya?

Possible Spoilers ********

As I watched the movie I began to think that Freya was the actual goddess of Norse legend come to life. It was a dark comedy based on what would happen if the goddess returned to Iceland and lived her life as a human woman. She was a warrior and wouldn't take any guff from men. By mobilizing the women around her they became Valkieries and followed her into battle, just like in the myth.

The cats were her familiars, her first husband died mysteriously, she assisted in childbirth, all aspects of the goddess. She was certainly a woman of sensual beauty and lustiness, the same as the goddess. She favored drunkards ... the list is endless.

The love goddess Freya had eight sisters. The God of storm and fishing, Njord is her father.

Finally when Agga became a woman she understood Freya and became a Valkierie too, she no longer thought as a child, as a woman she knew her power lay with the goddess, not with the laws of men. I just loved this movie.

Hail Freya!
