Homage to Aliens.

Wasp's nest (English translated title), is a great action film. Very solid and full of arty and cool shots.
While a remake of Assault on Precinct 13, the director also paid at least two homages to Aliens.
The scene where the woman driving the armor personel carrier slams on the brakes, sending the faceless 'monster' who's trying to claw through the window under the wheels, and the second is the underground tunnel used as a possible escape route by a single character.
The rest of the film was highly original, the road side ambush being the most thrilling scene.
Nice work, crapauds.

It's grenouilles - That's frogs. Not crapauds - that toads. But very erudite tho.

I know crapaud means toad, I just don't know what the difference is between a frog and a toad. Is it something to do with warts?

Toads have squatter bodies, shorter legs, and generally drier skin. However, from what I can gather, this is a completely non-technical term, and hence is unreliable and may vary from person to person.

This struck me as more reminiscent of Assault on Precinct 13 (the original) than Aliens.

These are what I noticed:

1. The opening credit for the title: specks of light (the bullet holes we see later) merge to form the title as eggs merge to form a band of light that reads the title of Alien.

2. The score was more like a horror film and reminded me of Alien and Alien 3.

3. Female portagonist similarities: Labourie and Ripley.

4. 3 survivors, male and 2 females, like end of Aliens.

5. Use of machinery and vehicles, like Aliens in particular but also Alien.

6. Alarm that sounds in the armoured car and in the warehouse when the fire extinguishers are set off reminded me of Ripley detonating the ship in Alien.

7. Driver of armoured car tickling the face of the other reminded me of humour in Alien:Resurrection.

8. In Aliens the aliens cut the electricity. In this film the Albanians outside shoot out all the lights.

9. Labourie shows Santino how to use a firearm as Hicks shows Ripley in Aliens.

10. The Albanians use the drains to get into the warehouse as the original alien moves through Nostromo (Alien)and the aliens use the ceiling vent (Aliens).

11. Firearms with light similar to flame throwers in Aliens.

12. Actor that played Giovanni reminded me of Biehn as Hicks.

13. Nexhep kills Giovanni as the alien kills in Alien.

As others have noted: Labourie squashing one of the Albanian attackers and driving the shot out wounded car mirrors a scene from Aliens.
