I've only seen the movie and read about the fairly recent discovery of her love letters with Philippa Foot that span 60 years, but it seems to me that she was bisexual. In the movie Janet Stone was her best friend, and it was inferred that they were romantically involved. Was there really a Janet Stone or was her character really Philippa Foot?
