Edie Sedgwick
I only caught a little bit of this movie last time it was on IFC, but is the character of Rachel supposed to be a fictional Edie Sedgwick (i.e. Janet Fitch's novel PAINT IT BLACK)?

shareYou know I never thought about that! but after watching factory girl (yeah I know a pretty bad biopic or whatever they're called) afew days ago it would make sense sorta.
shareI totally think that Rachel had a lot of Edie similarities! Her dress was a lot like Edie's. The black tights with shirts and little dresses and the big coats and stuff. Edie was more into speed than heroine though, but she did have her heroine streak for sure. But I totally agree, Rachel is VERY Edie in this movie!! Love em both :-D
shareplus the fact that russel seemed very Andy Warhol-ish.

I think she'd have made an awesome Edie in factory Girl.
sharewait, you think the chick in paint it black was suppost to be like a fictional Edie Sedgwick?
shareI don't see the similarities between Edie and Josie, the character from Paint it Black. Please show me some examples! But Rachel was like Edie in this movie.

Edie Sedgwick was a fictional Edie Sedgwick.
shareI know! This is the first thought that came to my mind when I saw Rachel. And then I started thinking about what if she played Edie in Factory Girl.
