This is a horrible film. The characters are terribly drawn...i didn't care about any of them in the beginning, middle, or end. The filming is self-aggrandizing, made more to draw attention away from the horrific plot and script than anything else. The acting is equally god-awful. The reality in which they live does not exist for REAL musicians really struggling to make a living in such a lucrative business (and no, i'm not upset at this movies cuz i am one of those "wanna-be" musicians). Where is the passion for the music? Where is the music itself? Why are they all morons that seem to think that everything will just happen for them if they are optimistic enough or play enough crappy clubs?

So, then this movie is supposed to be a comedy right? Tell me if i'm wrong, but i thought comedies were intended to be, ya know, funny.

I couldn't agree more.

The movie tries so hard to be cool, but has no idea what cool is.

It strives to have the slick irriverant hipness of a Guy Ritchie or Tarantino movie,
but lacks funny characters, a witty script, or an interesting story.

This movie is beyond lame. I expect better from Alexander Proyas.

you cant judge that.

Well, on the one hand yes, coolness i undoubtedly subjective. But on the other hand, the "its all relative" line of reasoning is totally pointless, as it negates discussing or having an opinion on anything.

I can say without much doubt, that "Forest Gump" is not a cool movie, nor is it attempting to be cool. It is attempting to be ernest and sentimental.

Undoubtedly, "Garage Days" is trying to be cool. It has a flashy trailer. It is about a rock band. It tries to have a wacky and self-depracating sense of humour. These are some of the hallmarks of something trying to be cool. What "Garage Days" doesn't have is a fresh and witty script, original and quirky characters, or a wild and creative plot. Basically its all cliches, executed with very little finesse. It ain't Tarantino. It ain't Guy Ritchie. It ain't even Cameron Crowe (who I don't like that much). So, I say it ain't cool! Certainly, the least cool thing something can do, is to try to be cool and fail miserably. That is what this film did, in spades!

It was boring too. This was one of the bad casting of all times! It wasn't funny at all. The only halfway amusing part was the ac/dc cover band and that was all. Kick Gurry is a lousy actor. He has to be a relative of the production-team. How else could he have been casted for the lead role??? And how many slow-motions can a viewer take?

i liked this movie... i thought it was fun and stylish... the plot coudlve used a bit more work though... ok so you dont like it... so what... just because you dont like it doesnt mean you have to start threads complaining about how bad you think it was... and if you dont think its funny well too bad... not all comedy is for everyone... stop bitching and complaining just because you didnt like this movie... people like you are hypocrits... you bash movies you dont like, basically insulting the people who made the movie and those who like it yet when a movie you like is bashed just like this you bitch and moan and say that they shouldnt do it even though you do the same

I thought the movie built up really well but then kind of just lost it about 1/2 way through. But I enjoyed it. Marton Csokas character I thought was great, they should have built more with him. Plus the drummer was just too funny.

I just started watching it this eveaning and *beep* me drunk it is so lame.

It trys so hard to be cool and alternative but it fails miserably.

The acting sucks, the plot is boring and unoriginal and the characters are totally cliched.
