hell now we have Raspberry Pi pushing the idea of the personal PC for under 40 bucks.. The advent of cell phones practically being as powerful as some PCs just a few years ago. I seriously don't think we are that far from a reality similar to what the movie showed. At the time it came of as a bit silly, to be the 3D display part was a bit too much.. but we are inching closer and closer. Even the whole everything is on the internet was just a wee bit much, but that's becoming a standard even for some computing now.
