Smashing the bracelet's and earring's glass "diamonds" was enough to throw off the security guy into thinking the bra she ran out with was the fake one.
The real question then is how could she get away with the real bra and not turn it into the cops later for evidence when they questioned her about it, which they certainly must have?
Laure had the real bracelet and real earring in the black bag with her when she got away, so they must've gotten the whole dress, and she must've given them to Veronica later on somehow. The entire dress was said to be around $10 million worth, the just under $4 million Laure got was her half, Veronica's half was probably the same. The value of the diamonds is depreciated a bit from selling them individually and being sold probably to pawn shops who have to buy cheap in order to profit from their merchandise.
The other two real questions are: How could Black Tie know about the bra switch being faked? And why bother faking the bra switch when Laure would've been able to get away clean with the whole dress in the back bag anyway, especially when, like I said before, the police would've questioned Veronica and would've wanted to see the bra she ran out with?
