Just saw this short! (MajorSpoilers)

Man this flick is hilarious! I saw the name of it on the preview guide a couple of times but never felt like watching some documentary on some nut into weird piercing so I ignored it. Especially after the last one I saw on castration! But when "Delusions in Modern Primitivism" came on the other day I was on the computer and I started listening to the tattoed idiot Jerome and I got caught up with it and turned all my attention to the TV. I couldn't help but laugh at everything this idiot said, yet underneath felt this anger for the stupidity of this Fighclub wannabe suburbanite poser. I started shouting- "What an idiot!" And thought this guy deserves it! I watched in horror at the whole procedure, and suddenly laughted hysterically at the ambulance driver smoking while waiting for Jerome to come out (should have given me a hint!) and the blood smear on the side of the ambulance! The 'artist' who helps Jerome with his new body art bursts out in nervous laughter like you would think someone might do after just shooting someone! At the same time he has this evil look like he really enjoys his work! That being shooting idiot posers for $500! (Another hint that I missed the first time watching!) After watching this I checked the preview guide and laughed out loud when I read the word 'comedy' after the title! Then after a second it finally registered that the whole thing was fake!!! I was in awe! Okay maybe if I was paying attention at the beginning I would have been able to tell, but still the fact it came on a cable channel (IFC I believe) that plays documentary after documentary (including the one about castration for fun!)it was really easy to fall into the trap! Great short film! Works really well on channels that play a lot of documentaries!

If I had a nickel for every cigarette your mom smoked, I'd be dead.

I totally agree with you the whole time i was watching i was trying to figure out if it was fake or not i wasn't sure if someone would do that or not but when hes talking in the car is kind of a give away the only time people talk like that is in mockumentaries but still a very very funny short worth seeing 100 times also check out Lunch you will be laughing nonstop

Is it Lunch (2001)? Sounds like the one you're talking about. Does it play on IFC or other cable channels? If not how may I find it? My all-time favorite short film is The Big Picture by the Spierig Brothers. I saw it one night on the Mystery Channel a couple of years ago. And it finally has a spot on the IMDb!!! I think if you search you can watch it online. It's really cool!

This short just showed up on CineMax Latin America. I caught it just in time to see "Jerome" dring through Euless. I'm a Texan and I have cousins in the DFW area, so I kept watching, with no idea that it was a parody. I was totally convinced until I noticed the towel covering the "exit wound" wasn't bloody. Impressive film!

Just learned about it. Made me think of this movie. Not too far off from getting shot on purpose. It's either getting small strips of skin cut off in shapes or designs or using a laser/solder/cautery. And to make it worse it's supposed to keep it irritated for a long time to get the scar raised on the skin when it does heal. Scary. I bet someone will eventually shoot themselves for the sake of the art of it. For better or worse. Anyone agree?

I believe that there is someone who's already done it. People have done far crazier things to their bodies. I think there was an episode of Jerry Springer where a man amputated his own legs in his own home b/c he felt like he "didn't need them anymore." A bullet wound doesn't compare...
