That's the only disappointment I have with the game after 1 day of playing. No Sarah Michelle Gellar voice, just some no name. Anyone know why? I suppose she's just getting to big for her britches.

Like you said, she was filming Scooby Doo. In cases like this when a videogame is made from a TV show and they're using original voices, if one is missing, that's usually because of production scedule problems like this one. The same happened on the 'Star Trek Voyager - Elite Force' PC game; every one's voice was on it, except for Jeri Ryan's (Seven of Nine). However, a while later a patch was released, containing her voice which she recorded later.
So before people start to rip on an actor or actress on something like this, get your facts straight. Otherwise, please shut up !

I heard that she didn't record her voice because, one, she was filming Scooby Doo, and also that if she was going to do it, she needed to come in on the same day as David Boreanaz to record. Apparently, something happened between them because she refused to. I think they had an affair while he was on "Buffy" or something like that. They used to be best friends, and now they barely speak to each other. I don't know why, I would choose David over Freddie any day : ) I do think it would have been better to have her voice though. I mean everyone else is the same and then this other girl(who does sound like her) takes SMG's voice and... I didn't like it. Couldn't she have just recorded it into a tape recorder and sent it to the people?

Yes. She said she would do the finale, but Joss said that he wanted the show to be about Angel, and having Buffy in the fight would just show that it was a spinoff living in Buffy's shadow. Not a spinoff that is stand alone.

I loved Buffy, still do. But by Buffy I mean the series, not SMG. She was awesome in the first season, but as the magazine covers kept rolling in you notice a change for the worse. I only think she came to again in the latter part of season 7.
And I wouldn't use "Scooby-Doo" as a sign of stardom since it didn't gross that much compared to the budget it had. Also, people in general though the movie was nothing special (imdb 5.0/10), and reviewers didn't rave about it either. "American Pie" on the other hand grossed ten times the amount of the budget, the second installation five times, and well, the third one sucked ;) just as "Scooby-Doo 2" will do.

Actually, Alyson Hannigan won't be giving her voice as Willow, which I think is worse than someone else being Buffy. SMG does have a distinct voice, but Aly's is so much more distinct. Plus, they really shouldn't play around with who is doing Willow, last time they did that, they ended up with a crappy Unaired pilot.

The thing is, we might not know the proper reasons about it anyway. Even an official statement could be untrue. From other posters on this thread it seems she was busy elsewhere and so couldn't add her voice, but presumably would have done if free.

You're contradicting yourself. If they had NOT 'played around' with the actress, we would have been stuck with Riff whatshername and never had Alyson!
Well, I gonna have to agree here. If they didn't play around with who is doing Willow, we would have ended up with Riff Regan who was the actress who played Willow in the unaired BTVS pilot & not Alyson Hannigan.
I've seen the unaired pilot & I can tell you that Riff Regan Willow sucks in comparison to the Alyson Hannigan Willow.

I doubt Sarah would have recorded her voice if she was available. Remember when the Buffy musical came out? "I'm an actress. I don't do singing." She was very public about her dislike for recording the songs.

I think she thinks herself too big to be involved in such a thing, I get the feeling she's always thought herself too 'big' for Buffy. I may be wrong here, but I think she is the only star of the show not to appear in any of the DVD extras in any of the seasons, how hard is it to take time out to record a 5 minute piece for the DVD...that may change on season 7 though, but I doubt it.

The Season 6 DVD had extras with her on it. I think it might have been the'life is the Big Bad' one, but i can't quite remember, but she's there somewhere 'cause she's talking about going into the rehearsal studio and trying to act Buffy the way she was in the movie and all about going in for it, like, eight times until she'd got the part.

i just wanted to response just in case people come tripping back into this post...
yeah sure she's a snob...she's one of the few celebrities (an actual celebrity) who doesn't only write checks for charity...but also when she has the time, go to other third world countries to bring attention to those issues. She attends the nickelodien award show every year for the kids...
c'mon people - everyone who has worked with her (even the people from buffy who's worked with her for a long time) can't deny she works long hard hours on the set - she gave up roles because she was comitted to Buffy - she's been there since she was eighteen, she's what? almost 26 now? that's a freakin' long time to work on a project, she's young, can you blame her for not wanting something bigger? especially since she's talented enough to take on serious roles that can actually make her a movie star? i'm sure she just wants to close that chapter (with respect) so people will stop referring her to as just "buffy" (which i'm sure she still finds flattering)so she can win other roles...she wants to move on people, think of it as working at a job, holding a position for 7 years, granted she got a raise (not as much as she deserved, i felt really bad how the WB just turned their back on the entire crew of Buffy), but it's like never getting a promotion...as much as i LOVED Buffy (i have all the season DVDs, few books, some comics) - but I really respected SMG as an actress and I wanted to see her in other roles...
maybe you guys are delusioned that SMG has become a "hollywood snob" because of all the things you read in the paper...maybe i'm delusioned that she's actually a good person because of the things i've read in the paper (seen in interviews,etc)...judging is inevetible (correct spelling?) but let's judge on what we can fairly judge her on - her acting abilities...her life and who she is? we don't know *beep* despite what we have seen and read, you never know someone unless you met them, and even then, you're only seeing the surface...

I disagree somewhat. I could tell right off the bat that it wasn't SMG doing Buffy. It kind of took away from the game. I play Star Trek games, and those people had the time to take a few minutes and record their voice. The guy that did the voice over for The Wonder Years recorded his voice wherever he was in the world, it didn't matter if he was on vacation or doing a movie. Back then he have a huge tape recorder and that was it. SMG was a self important ***** and finally started to come back down to earth when her cooking movie flopped.

Lets face it, we love her for Buffy, The Grudge (she's dies quickly in the sequel), and All My Children. She was just ok in Scooby-Doo, they had to add the kick butt aspect of her character to allow Buffy fans to accept her. She was ok in I Know What You Did Last Summer, but she died.

I didn't see Ms. Alba doing a no show for the Dark Angel game, and she is way more popular than SMG! She knows where her roots are and stands by them. I'm just saying that SMG could have shown her fans the same respect!!!

Ummm...You're apparently under the impression that it takes a short time to do something like this? Acting is hard work, believe it or not. It's not easy. Also thanks for ruining a part of The Grudge II for me. I do really feel bad for her about Scooby-Doo. They felt they HAD to fuse the two characters (Buffy and Daphne), even though Daphne is basically second season Cordelia.(in otherwords a bitch with good intentions who occasionally ATTEMPTS to help the group) I mean lets face it, Daphne never did anything! They couldn't have just decided, "Hey let's make Daphne a blackbelt." Naw they did it 'cause an ex-vampire slayer would be playing the role. Perhaps Sarah just didn't want to continue to be sucked back in. She could very well want to reach OUT of the kick-ass awkward girl with no social life role.
