*Possible Spoilers* - The Getaway

Please don't read if you haven't seen this film or The Getaway, I don't want to ruin the experience for anyone.



Did anyone else notice various similarities to The Getaway (the Peckinpah version, I've never seen the remake and have no interest in it):

- Protagonist(s) released from prison by a corrupt warden to pull off a robbery that will benefit the warden

- Protagonist's wife may or may not be using sexual favors to aid him, which he resents throughout the film

- Two outsiders brought in to aid in the robbery, which the protagonist protests to no avail; one of the outsiders goes psycho during the robbery

- Protagonist ends up with the robbery money, not because he intended trickery, but because others intended to kill him

- In the key moment for both films, it appears the wife is going to shoot someone, but shoots someone else


I'm not arguing "rip off," nor do I care -- I thought this film was interesting enough and worth watching. I was just curious if anyone else noticed the similarities I did.
