Rhonnda Findleton's sexual scene with the convict

One of the hottest moments I have ever seen. Anyone agree or disagree?

I think you're right. The sudden directness and her furtive looks just sort of add to it's authentic feel. The fact that she initially puts him off while in her professional guise earlier makes it all the more powerful and surprising.

...........Hate is the essence of weakness in the human mind...........

Exactly. Good articulation of what makes that scene so appealing.

I always found this moment really weird and Freudian, not sexual at all, almost like there was this weird mother-compensating going on, that Edgertons character needed to be put on the breast he'd missed as a young boy (he mentioned mother issues earlier). The whole relationship they have is also completely improbable and offensive to anyone who works in mental health - film would've been imoroved minus this whole plot line. Perhaps writer/director should submit himself to a little counselling? Won't be a whole lotta teet-nursing going on, that's fer sure.....

I just made this comment on a post about Shane, and whether or not he was sexually abused or just being a horndog:

This is very late, but I was just scouring through this message board for answers to that question myself (I'm watching it again right now.) From what I can tell, Shane was very "loved" by his mother (and possibly his mother's lesbian lover too.)

He mentioned that he was "big for his age" at around 12/13, and that it was only him, his mother, and his mother's lover in a very small caravan. Then he tries to avoid the question altogether by professing his love for the psychiatrist. Later, when he's in the medical ward with food poisoning, the psychiatrist visits him. And what I think some people might take as a sexual move, Shane starts suckling on her breast. To me, it was some weird (albeit kinda hot - I mean, look at Joel Edgerton!) mother/son thing.

I think him coming on to her was just his way of both avoiding answering the questions, and an acting out of sorts (sort of how some sexually abused people turn out to be sexual addicts when they grow older.) She had a *beep* marriage, and was just enjoying the attention.

Least, that's what I got from it.

So, while it was weird because I got that "mother/son" vibe from it, it was also, to answer your question, kinda hot. Joel Edgerton is one attractive man.

Bam, said the lady.
