Do you think Steve would have... (spoilers)

Do you think Steve would have turned on them or something? When I first heard that he wanted them to rob his parents' house, and then said he wanted a gun... I was like "Oh $h!t, he's gonna turn on them and then say he was defending himself!"

Anyone else felt that way? I mean, why else would he need a gun to break into his own parents' house? Your thoughts...

In the true story he was lured to the property to buy a gun... most likely I assume Stuart wanted the gun just to feel like a badass, but there is the small possibility that Stuart actually intended to do something with the gun he requested.

I think in the movie it's probably much the same - Stevie boy just wanted the gun to feel badass, breaking the cycle, etc. There is some obvious point to having a gun if you're going to do a burglary... it may not be his parents that he pulls it on during the robbery but rather a security guard, but there's a chance he did have another plan for it of course.

In the scene where Steve is at the party before he's murdered it seems like he's rather suspicious or anxious about what is going to take place that night... so maybe there's something to that.

I did not get that impression at all... I felt that he needed a gun because they were "robbing" his parents house... Obviously with the parents still inside it...

Which is why he was saying its their "wakeup" call... He was planning on using it to strike fear into them... (Not actually use against them....)

It seemed to me that Steve's parents probably lost something along the way.... Something that families should all have on an emotional level... But that usually happens when a family has an over abundance of matierialistic stuff and status... (I'm Asian and I know how that goes...)

With fear of death... Brings a crazy new found appreciation of life and family... And that's obviously what Steve wanted the gun for... Because its not enough for them to just break in and steal *beep* His family is rich... They could just buy it again... So the plan was to stage it when the parents are home and give them a crazy scare... A wake up call...

Now I don't agree with Steve's reasoning and "solution"... But I do understand it and I feel that is what he was thinking...

Finally someone who gets it.

Yes, despite Steve's aloof nature and his obvious advantages, I started to like the character. Unfortunately, the "gang" didn't quite come to the realization that he was not such a bad guy soon enough. They couldn't stand him.

Watta ya lookn here for?
