A Possible Solution
Indeed, this film made me upset and mad like so many here. HOWEVER, we also know that children are abused, and often do cover up for their parents for so many reasons (fear, they love them, etc). With that said, however, it PISSED ME OFF, how the social workers, detectives and prosecuters told the children that if they tell the "truth," it will all be over. They truly believed that if they said what they were told to say, they'd get to go home.
However, to have social workers and doctors who are affiliated only with the prosecuter's office seems naive. They need to appoint independent shrinks, or whomever, to conduct the interviews as well. Those who won't try and trick the children (not that I believe all law enforement does - but it seems like certain DAs, like the one it this case, just wanted a conviction to show the city he was "hard on crime"). And there attitude is: "Damn any naysayers or negative consequences - even if it means destroying families' lives."
