The thing I love most about this movie

...and, in my opinion, is sort of the moral of the story:

That fine line a person must draw with their past. Suzette and Lavinia were opposite extremes. While Suzette was stuck in the past, living in what appeared to be a studio apartment, perpetually in her '20s... Lavinia was going to extensive lengths to forget her past, to the point of losing herself and becoming someone she totally wasn't.

The moral of the story is you need a healthy relationship with your past to be a happy, well-rounded person. Look back on it with fondness - the good, the fantastic, the bad, and the ugly. The past has helped you grow and it has helped create the person you are today..... but you must not live there either.

In the end, Lavinia blossomed when she found herself again and started honoring where she came from and the road she once traveled. And Suzette blossomed when she started to realize that her past wasn't all she was. I suspect she drove home to L.A. with Harry and respectfully began packing away her rock star memorabilia... and maybe it began to look like the home of a 50-year-old. haha!!

This is a VERY late reply, but your comment was dead-on. ??
