The capt. was just not a good enough to carry what needed to be done. Not saying he is a bad actor, but I think he took the wrong approach and did not have the ability to do what other leads did in other sci-fi showss
shareI'd be interested in hearing why you think so. The only part that I didn't like was when he was talking to Sarah about his childhood and I think that was more a writing issue than the acting.
I loved the chemistry between him and his crew.
I thought the captain was one of the better parts of the movie. The actor plays a better young James T. Kirk than Chris Pine does.
Personally, I think the movie got a bad rap. Those who hate it don't remember how bad "The Gathering" was. Bad enough that I really don't ever want to see it again. I hate to speak ill of the departed, but Michael O'Hare was completely wooden in my opinion, while Tamlyn Tomita overacted so badly that she made Ivanova look understated.
