Why is this being propagated as a LGBT-movie?

Don't get me wrong I really liked the movie, but I just can't understand why ANYone can say this is a LGBT movie...its like saying "Friends" was a LGBT sitcom just because Ross' exwife turned gay! I think its a cute, romantic movie kinda satc-ish in your "woman-out-in-the-big-city-looking-for-love"-way. Very funny too, I almost chocked myself at the martini-olive-fantasy. But as I saw this movie because it was recommended on various other boards on IMDb as a LGBT movie I'd like to have someone explain me why this is a LGBT movie. There is only ONE Lesbian in the whole movie....and shes neither a major role, nor is the subject of lesbianism talked about for more than 2 minutes. And as no bisexuals, let alone gays appear... Or would "Friends" also be LGBT? I don't know maybe its an American thing, no generalisation meant, but its a fact that censorship and stuff like that is different in the US than it is for example in Europe, so maybe thats why I don't get it (I'm german). I'd really appreciate Your opinion on it. :-)

What is LGBT?

The LG part is lesbian and gay -- I THINK the other part is bisexual and transgendered.

I assumed it was on the LGBT lists because of the whole empowerment of women sub-theme of the movie.
And yes, LGBT is an acronym for Lesbian.Gay.Bi.Transgendered.

I'd like to hope that there is more to it being classified as LGBT than simply female empowerment themes. That really strikes me as saying that all strong women surely can't be straight, and all gay women surely are interested in female empowerment and issues - both of which are untrue assumptions. That sort of classification should be seen as problematic by all women, regardless of various isms that they may fall into as individuals.
Also - I think that if Friends were a movie and Ross's ex-wife played a role, it very likely would be on such lists. As it's a TV show, it's easy enough to watch several episodes without ever encountering her.

because only feminists would tell you that to be a lesbian is to be an empowered woman...stupid but true

Sadly, I think you've touched on something there. There is some kind of prejudice in the LGBT community that heterosexual women aren't "empowered" because they are attracted to men.

Because no one gives a crap about women's orgasms other than women.
