The one major flaw.

The one major flaw that made me drop this from a 7 to a 6 was the lack of intelligence/common sense between the three kidnappers. It became apparant that these three idiots shared one brain cell between the three of them VERY early on.
Sure, their plans were quite good, as well as the way Kevin introduces himself to the mothers was intimidating, but they made so many stupid errors. And we are supposed to believe they had gotten away with this FOUR TIMES?!

1. Kevin Bacon leaves his phone in the bathroom. Kevin Bacon then lets Charlize in the bathroom by herself for several minutes.

2. Fat guy leaves the little girl by herself. Little girl is inches away from the front door, which is unlocked!!

3. Courtney Love falls asleep with her silencer just laying around.

I know these guys had the upper hand by having the daughter/phonecalls rule, but they made really stupid errors which could have busted up their plan. Anyway, it was a good B-thriller.

These were NOT "stupid errors." The point of the cell phones were to call in and check up with each other. If Cheryl (Courtney Love) or Joe (Kevin BAcon) didn't call every 30 minutes, Marvin would shoot the girl (Abby). So, why would Joe be concerned about Karen (Charlize) do something with the phone? And Karen would have no need for it seeing as how only Joe can tell Marvin that everything's okay.

Same for Cheryl. If Will (Stuart Townsend) kills her, who's going to call Marvin and say that everything's okay? If she didn't call, Marvin would kill Abby. Also, if Will shot her, she would call Joe and Joe would probably tell Marvin to kill Abby or something of that nature. Just like how she told Joe that Will hit her and then Will reciprocated by hitting Karen.

Before you go calling a movie stupid because you were too stupid to understand it, just PAY ATTENTION NEXT TIME!!!

They got sloppy due to arrogance and this job being personal.

I don't think Kevin Bacon left his phone in the bathroom; it was a spare cellphone which the wife found in her husband's medical bag. that's why she received a call from Abby on it a few minutes later.
