It's a good movie. If you're interested in history, labor unions, railroads, the Depression, Jim Crow, New York City or stories of overcoming great odds, this is a movie for you.
The best things about it were 1) the insight on an important part of history, 2) the cinematography, 3) the acting. The directing and writing were surprisingly bland for a story of such violence and power.
My friend just recommended I watch it, said it reminded him of my job as a field organizer. Of course, being a field organizer 43 days out from the election, I obviously will have to wait til November to watch it, but it's on my list now.
