Keller Vs. Donovan And What You Would've Liked To See

First of all, I loved the Frank Donovan character, but as I was re-watching the series on the DVDs I got from the DVDR Shop (Which is a great site btw, but is closed for the summer) and it got me to thinking: what if they had decided to keep the John Keller character? Do you think the show would have been as strong as it was? For me, I'd have to say yes as the directors would have been able to to explore Alex and John's burgeoning feelings as well as her feelings between her and Carlos and they would be able to explore Jake and John's relationship as you get the feeling that they had known each other for a while and even though John had sent Jake in to infiltrate Sonny Walker's crew, he was almost fatherly (or maybe older brotherly) when he cautioned the younger agent to not get sucked into Sonny's way of thinking.

As for what I would've liked to see if the series had continued, I think an origins ep (how the UC unit came about) would have been neat as well as at least one ep each that dealt with an agent's past (an ep for Cody, Monica, etc.). It's too bad that it didn't get a fair shake. So, how about everyone else? What do you think?
