No More Brian??? No More Kurt?!? No More Bob?!?!?

Can I just be the 1st to say....oh *beep* balls.

Taking away Simon I could understand cos we wanted 2 see more of the other guys, but removing 3 of the most well loved characters who've bin there since the beginning is pretty bad.

I dunno whether this new series will b any gud, and maybe I shudn't jump 2 conclusions in thinking it'll b *beep*, but I just don't wanna let my fav characters go!

*sob, sob*

dude i hear ur pain, taking away simon was a killer but kurt and brian were enough to steer it forward, i have just got used to matt lance and now he has gone as well as the 2 main comic forces of the show. i have a strange crush on liz so at least she has survived, but i am not holdin my breath for the 3rd series

reply

You're wrong about Bob, he'll still be around.

But as for the other characters, I only hope they know what they're doing. It's alright to bring new characters in and take old ones out, but when you start tinkering with the engine of the show (i.e. Matt, Brian and Kurt) you're taking a massive risk.

reply

oh for the old days when Simon, Brian and Kurt used to gather around the pub and try to disgust Susan and Jenny as much as humanly possible without actually realising it :) I miss Simon loads but if Brian and Kurt that's it for me. No more Teachers.

reply

Give it a chance.

Wait until the series is showing, it could surprise you.

I never thought Simon going would work but it did. I never though Susan and Jenny vanishing would alow it to work but after a while to adjust it was still very good.

Give the next series a chance before you shout "Not going to watch anymore"

reply

simon, jenny and susan going i could just about deal with. but if kurt and brian are gone i doubt i'll be watching the new series. i don't like the new characters that much, especially that plump girl (can't remember her name) - she just annoys me immensely

reply

Lindsay? No way, she is brilliant. But then, that is just my opinion.

you're right. teachers will just be pointless without Kurt & Brian. 'course I'll be tuning in, just in case but I can't see it working. It was already starting to lose it a bit but this is just ridiculous. Couldn't they have got rid of Penny instead? She was only intermittently funny.

reply

She's still the best eye candy on the show. And I have to admit she matured in some ways after rewatching series three.

reply

Just saw the first episode on Channel4 and does any one know what happened to Matt, Brian and Kurt? i mean i know what i saw about 5 mins in but how did it happen any ideas, did i miss something from the last episode of serise 3?

how the *beep* did they die/ what the *beep* im absolutely gutted, but im sure this isnt the last, although it is typical of teachers humour to justthrow something like that at us as an explination and leave it at that for a laugh. the date of death on the headstones, last day of term isnt it?? party related me thinks.

i am better than you. deal with it.

Oh god. It was so bad last night I couldn't believe it. I'm a HUGE fan of teachers but when I saw that first advert without Kurt, Brian and Matt I knew it would be bad. The new characters just aren't funny and the old ones aren't funny either. I agree that Bob's character has completely changed. He was always annoying but that was just Bob! Now they've made him evil and just a twat.
I wish they hadnt made this series and just left it with the last one I really do.

Meh, it was rubbish, but I stopped paying attention after a while and just marvelled at how pretty Lee Williams (Ewan) is. Damn that was a good-looking fella.

reply

they killed off brian and kurt !? didnt watch the first 2 episodes of S4 and wont be watchin any at all now i heard this. how crap

reply

I thought the first episode of S4 was a bit rubbish, but the second one was great, I am glad to say. Even the new boys were good, apart from Ben, perhaps.

reply

I have to agree I was as sceptical as you, especially when they didn't explain why kurt, brian and matt had disappeared. But on the other hand, it is still hilarious, you should watch it.

By the way, Kurt, Brian and Matt have 'officially' died, as apparently the rest of the cast peed on their graves in the first episode whilst they were drunk.

I thought that without Brian and Kurt the show would die, but I now reckon I was wrong.

I had almost convinced my self not to like the new series and had to force myself to watch it. I'm glad I did, despite my reservations, I thought the first episode was pretty good, 2 and 3 the have been getting better and better.

That said, whenever I see the new guys, I can't help seing Brian and Kurt saying the same lines.

RIP Brian and Kurt!!!

which I knew what happened to them. I heard a roumer they died in a car crash along with Matt

reply

A car crash?! Couldn't they have thought up something better? They were worth more!

On the other hand, I've fallen in love with Ewan!

I don't actually know anyone else who watches Teachers as I'm only 15 and my friends don't think it's funny (!)...apart from my Physics teacher! So I have to talk about it with him. LOL.

I think everyone should just buy the series 1-3 boxset, I think it has been an amazing show but I think it has reached its peak for now. Without any of the (proper) original characters they loose all the silly games they used to play in the pub, and if they did them it would just seem like they were copying the old days. I will still be watching S4 (has anyone noticed the Kurt and Brian lookalikes hanging around!) and trying to like it, but the new characters dont seem to be imediately funny or likeable. Just some of the manarisms of the old characters made them funny, and they seemed to have a real chemistry. Also now they seem to have people down the pub who they would have hated having there in the old days.

reply

Matt's demise was sad but he wasn't Brian and Kurt, no one will ever be Brian and Kurt! Although I will forever mourn for them I choose to look at the silver lining that atleast there isn't one without the other. Brian and Kurt were a package deal. One without the other just wouldn't be funny. Although there has been one really terrible episode so far last week totally made up for it. Lindsey was hilarious when she got stuck in the serving hatch and the new guys are growing on me. Ben's neurotic behaviour is funny in that Damien completely knows how to set him off showing to me how well they know each other. Hopefully they'll expand Ewan past being the pretty boy but until then I'm happy to just stare at him and his beautiful, beautiful eyes.
