THE NIGHTMARE ROOM
shareGoosebumps is a classic but I have to go with The Nightmare Room. Only because the show was more for older kids and as cheesy as some of the stuff was, it was creepier than Goosebumps. I also liked it better because they had some pretty big stars on it like Drake Bell, Shia Laboeuf and Amanda Bynes.
shareIve been watching some episodes of the nightmare room on youtube today and only 3 episodes are my favorite and the rest was ok. Im going to have to go with goosebumps better storylines.

Yeah I wrote that
I liked Goosebumps...when I was 9. Looking back now, I can't really find anything scary about it. The Nightmare Room seems intended for an older audience, and it has a bit more scarier elements than Goosebumps.

What about The Haunting Hour series? How does that stack up with Goosebumps and The Nightmare Room?
shareHmmmm...that's a little bit of a tossup for me...both are good but usually a bit on the corny, more juvenile side of these shows. "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" is by far the scariest "for kids" one, but I still enjoy both Goosebumps & The Nightmare Room (as well as The Haunting Hour--which I might even rate a little above the prior two. It really depends on the episode, though. There are hits and misses in all of them, especially the R.L. Stine series. The Goosebumps BOOKS are absolutely my favorite creation of his.)

I completely agree with the above. Are You Afraid of the Dark? is definitly the best of the four. The other 3 are all hits and misses sadly, but The Haunting Hour would probably be the runnerup since there are more hits than misses overrall imo. Honestly Goosebumps probably ranks in last for me. When that show was bad it was really bad, and not to mention cheap. The Nightmare Room doesn't have many episodes, but the good ones are solid.
