A Live Action Dragon Ball Series
Hi Fellow Dragon Ball Fans!
Apparently I'm 30 years late to the party! My Brother recently introduced me to the Dragon Ball and DBZ anime! Despite starting out a little slow I got really hooked! I'm not really an anime guy but I watched all of DB and DBZ between January and March! Needless to say I loved it! I love the characters and the fact that they actually grow up and change! I also thought the continuity was handled very well for a show from the 80's. It's definitely become one of my favorite shows and I'm glad to be a part of this fan community now!
Anyway while watching I got to thinking that there is quite the potential here for an epic live action show! I know they tried to make a Movie (I hear it's beyond terrible) but there's no way to tell this story via films! There's just too many characters and story to cover in a satisfying manner. Not that any studio is trying to do this but if HBO or hell even Netflix (they throw $$$ at anything) put up the money and time you could do a HELL of an adaptation! Key word being adaptation!! You could never do a full retelling of the anime or even the manga (which I plan on checking out). But you could definitely do a version of it! You wouldn't be able to tell the story all in a row what with the characters aging and having kids. However there are a few time gaps in the story where the show could take a break for a few years then come back and do a few more seasons! Granted this will probably never happen but in a fantasy world where a studio would take this chance (and drop the $$$) this is how I would do it!
