Which novel?
What novel is this story from because I've been dying to read the book after seeing the movie. Is it from a short story collection or is it a novel?
"Die cuckoo clock, die!"

"Die cuckoo clock, die!"
It was based on "Night Chills" I have never read the book.
The reviews don't sound anything at all like the movie itself.
"Night Chills" was his first book as Dean R. Koontz, I believe. It's one of his less good ones (meaning it wasn't bad, but just not his best), but worth the read. I didn't even know they had made it into a movie! Must check it out.
Behind every great man there's a woman rolling her eyes.
The movie isn't too shabby. As you can see it doesn't seem too popular...lol not many posts. It's one of my favorites though. Do take the time to rent it!:)
shareIt is not based off of Night Chills. It is based off of a novella he wrote called "Black River" that was in Cemetary Dance magazine. It is not collected in Strange Highways, as the novella came out after that collection.
Night Chills and Black River take place in the same town, Black River taking place after Night Chills, I think.
Night Chills was not the first book he wrote under his name. That honor would go to Star Quest.
Does anyone else find it funny that there is a pop-up Kama Sutra?
no, but I find it funny that the first book I ever read from Koontz, was on writing Science Fiction. Anymore, few seem to realize that was where he started.
shareEven now, though, many of his books have Sci-Fi elements (Phantoms comes to mind).
