So, if the event that caused everybodies amnesia was 40 years before, how does that work? In the last episode of the first season (I think) they had a play where it showed how Roger found his current home, Norman, and Big O after his amnesia. Were they alive during the event? Anyways, I'm a newbie to this show, and was just wondering. I guess it could be answered later on in the series, but I have no patience. Sorry if it's a stupid question.

Well, in the final episode of the Second season(SPOILER WARNING) the whole thing resets to events of the first episode. So, maybe the "event" didn't really happen 40 years ago? Myabe they only think it did and they only have 40 years or so worth of memories?

We don't know yet. Hopefully there'll be a 3rd season.
