Who would you cast in a live action version of this?

Even though I tend to think it would be difficult and not good to make a live action version of this, I just wonder who would anybody on this board cast if they were to do one?

David Boreanaz who plays Angel on....the show Angel should play Roger, they have always reminded me of each other

I'm only ever able to catch this show from time to time, so I'm not sure if I've got the character's name right, but I must say that the lead character (Roger, is it?) always strikes me as being a direct animation of the excellent Christian Bale. Run out and rent a copy of Equilibrium if you don't believe me. You can thank me later...

Roger Smith - Scott Cohen
Dorothy- Rachel Leigh Cook
Angel- Kathyrn Morris
Norman Burg- Frank Thornton
Schwarzwald- Tony Shalhoub
Dan Dastun- Kevin Pollack
Alex Rosewater- James Caan
Alan Gabriel- Mark Hamill
Beck- Owen Wilson

reply

Roger Smith reminds me of Kyle Maclachlan.

reply

Holy sh!t! They may not act the same....but Agent Cooper and Smith...I can see it.

reply

christian bale would definitely work for the role (although it's almost too expected) he played the almost exact same character in batman, which is why it could work perfectly for Big O.

reply

Clive Owen or Christian bale
Bryce Dallas Howard
John Hurt

reply

I would say:

Roger................Christian Bale
Norman.............John Hurt
Dorothy..............Kirsten Dunst
Beck...................Jim Carrey (Isn't it OBVIOUS?)
Angel.................Uma Thurman (or at least some pretty actress who can act)

reply

Director- Tim Burton, SpeilBerg, OR Tarantino (bloody style)

Roger for Christian Bale is a CRAP idea.

I cast Hugh Jackman OR maybe even Edward Norton for Roger... maybe.

Those two would be bad-asses (see fight club and X-men)

Dorthy- Zooey Deschanel or the chick from Resident Evil
Beck- Jim Carrey OR Adam Sandler OR Will Ferell Or even Steve Carrol (just make him blond :) )
Angel- Elizebth Cuthbert (first thing that popped in mind)
Big Ear- Keven Spacey. End of story.
Norman- Micheal Caine
Gordon Rosewater- Alec Baldwin (obvious)
Dastun- Zach Braff (in 20 years) or Jack Nicholson

Alan Gabriel- Me of course :p
( I've got this great crooked smile)

reply

you want adam sandler or will ferrell as beck? and you thought christian bale was a bad choice?

reply

What irony.

You diss the idea of Bale, who nowadays plays the MOST COMMONLY COMPARED CHARACTER to Roger Smith.

Almost fell on the floor laughing.

reply

I'm not too sure about most of the cast, but for Roger Smith...
Ron Perlman...duh.

reply

Why's everyone here got a pickle wedged up their arse when anybody suggest anything half-heartedly.

But anyway,Hellboy with a suit and spiffy voice-activated watch.... hmn. I don't see it. But hey, it's all good.
